Proving that she still has street swagger, Australian actress Melissa George showed off a tight and toned tum on Friday.

The 37-year-old arrived at the exclusive collection launch of Alexander Wang x H&M in New York wearing a revealing cropped top by the designer.

Having only given birth to her first child Rapha?l in February, the new mum shocked onlookers with her impressive toned tum.

Wearing head-to-toe black, Melissa looked avant garde and fitted in perfectly with all the edgy designs from the Alexander Wang collaboration with high street retailer H&M.

Melissa's sporty black leather pants from the new range put an interesting spin on the 80's parachute pant trend.

A black stretchy bandage crop top cut just under the former Home and Away stars ribs and showed off her bare stomach.

Bizarre ankle boots that looked to be split down the center and pealed open covered her feet.

Completing her look was a black woolen coat, worn stylishly over her shoulders, a large choker and long elbow length gloves.

Melissa opted for effortless tousled hair that framed her face in a chic bob. The young mum also decided to forgo a spray tan and embrace her natural pale complexion.
 

Dramatic black kohl-lined eyes and a matte fleshy pink lip wrapped up her makeup and hair. Melissa is currently working on an untitled project by screen writer Richard LaGravenese in New York.

The must-see runway show was filled with a plethora of tight futuristic ensembles, with most garments coming in black and grey.

The collaboration between Alexander Wang and chain store H&M has been long awaited after being first announced in April.

Fashion fans will have to wait a little longer yet with the range, which varies from $349 for leather pants to $12.95 for a pair of socks, not on sale until November 6.

Australian Victoria's secret model Shanina Shaik also attended the highly anticipated fashion show.

Wearing leather thigh-high lace-up boots and a sporty T-shirt dress, the 23-year-old exotic beauty looked like any other of the fash-pack A-list guests.

The model has been in an on-again relationship with fellow model Tyson Beckford, 43. The attractive male model was walking at the show in Alexander Wang's futuristic designs.

Tyson uploaded a snap of the pair who are rumoured to be back together after the show writing 'Currently what we doing it AW'.

In an interview in O Magazine, the 43-year-old revealed her love for 'fancy underwear' which she tends to 'buy all over the world.'

The comedian looked fabulous in a colourful floral romper in the November issue of Oprah Winfrey's publication.

The mother of two opens up about various things including her favourite indulgence.

'Fancy underwear, which I buy all over the world,' the SNL veteran said.

'I’m not shy about throwing away my gently used pairs and replacing them with new ones.'

In keeping with her wacky sensibility, she also discussed what she likes to say to get a conversation started at a party.

'Hey, did you steal my wallet?' she joked, before admitting: 'Just kidding. What’s your name?'

When not splurging on unmentionables, the talented star is keeping busy working on the seventh and final season of her NBC sitcom Parks And Recreation.

While a premiere date has yet to be announced, the show will have a truncated run with just 13 episodes before signing off.

In addition, Amy's getting ready to publish her first book, Yes Please.

Hitting shelves on October 28th, it features personal stories on love, sex, friendship and parenthood peppered with her trademark wit and biting voice.

Actress and breast cancer survivor Christina Applegate has spoken out about her life and her body six years after she underwent a double mastectomy.

The 42-year old mother-of-one, based in California, says that breast reconstruction has improved by leaps and bounds since 2008, when she had implants fitted after her surgery to remove both breasts.

'I’ve seen [breast implants] on some girls recently where I’m like, "Those are the best looking boobs I’ve seen",' she tells ELLE.com. 'So it can be a positive thing...You can get better boobs than you had before, if you so choose.'
 

Ms Applegate - who has a three-year-old daughter, Sadie, with her musician husband Martyn LeNoble - mentions that her own breast reconstruction results were 'very different' from those she sees today.

'You start to live with those boobs, and it’s your reminder every day that this thing happened to you, unfortunately, and it’s a part of your body that’s changed drastically, and embracing that is difficult sometimes,' she said.

When asked what she thought about the worrying rise in the cases of cancer in the U.S., Ms Applegate remarked: 'It’s growing at such a rapid pace and it’s getting into women who are much younger because of the environment and what is in our food.

'It’s not the cancer getting stronger; it’s that we are being poisoned,’ she said, adding that her own home is ‘purely organic’ when it comes to food. ‘I know it’s expensive, but find a way,' she said.

Still, a good lifestyle can't immunize you against all the risks. Ms Applegate learned she had the BRCA1 gene in 2008, just as Angelina Jolie did after her, in 2013.

This gene is hereditary and puts women at much higher risk of developing breast and ovarian cancer.

'I have talked to women who do yoga, who are vegan, who have never smoked and/or never drank a day in their life but they have Stage IV breast cancer,' Ms Applegate points out.

'Sometimes it’s just a fluke. Sometimes it’s just some strange inflammation in the body.

'One cell - one cell - goes cuckoo and everything changes.'

Ms Applegate's breast cancer was detected very early. Due to her family history of the disease, she had been having mammograms every year from the age of 30.

On one occasion, her doctors told her that her breasts were too dense to get a proper look and she was advised to undergo an MRI to 'see deeper.'

It's a decision that could well have saved her life, and Ms Applegate concedes she was lucky to be able to afford further testing, which costs thousands of dollars.

She then completed a course of radiation therapy to treat the cancer in her left breast, and after further testing, she finally learned she had the BRCA1 gene.

The best preventative method in the incidence of this gene is to have both breasts entirely removed, a decision Ms Applegate made quickly.

Speaking to Oprah in 2008 just after her mastectomy, Ms Applegate said: 'It came on really fast. It was one of those things that I woke up and it felt so right,' she says. 'I was just going to let them go.'

Before her surgery, the Anchorman star organised her ever first nude photo shoot to commemorate her body before it changed forever.

'I made sure that I have close-up photographs of them from every angle so I can kind of remember them,' she said.

These days, Ms Applegate runs her self-founded nonprofit, Right Action for Women; a donation-based charity which helps provide financial assistance for women to undergo MRI's and other testing.

This month, the organization has teamed up with fitness brand ASICS to run a line of pink workout clothes and sneakers, with at least $100,000 of profits pledged to the charity.

The artist, formerly known as Nick Murphy, told Daily Mail Australia at the ceremony at the Art Gallery in Sydney: 'I feel so humbled.'

He added: 'After touring all year and mostly being overseas it’s good to be home and be recognised

Melbourne-born Chet's work has also scored mentions in the Engineer Of The Year, making the independent singer and producer a serious contender this year.

Meanwhile, Sia, who has enjoyed massive success internationally for her 1000 Forms of Fear album, is nominated for Best Pop Release in the same category as 5 Seconds Of Summer, who are also nominated for Best Group.

Jessica Mauboy's album Beautiful received a nod for Album Of The Year alongside Sheppard, while Iggy Azalea is down for Best Female Artist and Keith Urban for Best Country Album.

Jessica told Daily Mail Australia: 'I’m buzzing you know, I guess I’m celebrating that I’m here with all the artists.

'I’m so happy that it’s diverse, it felt like everyone got an award that’s in the charts or making music; everyone who's in power in music with their own sound.'

With so much Australian talent doing well overseas with Sia, Iggy and 5 Seconds Of Summer dominating the world music charts, this year's glitzy awards ceremony, to be hosted at The Star Event Centre on November 26, is poised to be spectacular.

Locally, there here have been eleven No 1 Australian albums so far this year with Australian artists holding the No1 spot on the ARIA Album charts for 19 out of 38 weeks.

Three Australian singles have claimed the top spot on the ARIA Singles Chart including Justice Crew's hit 'Que Sera' which broke the ARIA chart record as the longest running Australian number one hit, holding the top position for nine consecutive weeks.

While there are rumours that Katy Perry could be gracing the music event this year, Iggy and boy band sensation 5 Seconds of Summer have been invited to attend.

Last year Alicia Keys swept in from the USA to stand before the pool of talented local talent as a guest performer and presenter.

The 14-time Grammy Award winner graced the red carpet with her superstar status and was joined by teenage sensations Lorde and Cody Simpson as they honoured the winners at Sydney's The Star casino.
